Technical Program Manager

About the role

AirAsia MOVE is looking for a Technical Program Manager in Kuala Lumpur. As the single-threaded owner of execution for complex, cross-functional technical programs, you act as the link between Engineering, Product, Design, Business and Analytics, keeping programs moving with clarity and accountability. The role suits someone who is technically fluent, thrives in complexity and operates with a bias for outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Own end-to-end execution of assigned technical programs, keeping a clear view of status, risks, dependencies and timelines, and ensuring scope, milestones and delivery commitments are understood across teams.
• Partner with Engineering, Product and Design to define execution plans and validate that technical solutions are viable, scalable and aligned to best practices; drive shared ownership of architecture decisions, integration points and technical success criteria.
• Lead programs with broad technical dependencies across teams or functions, own the program plan (sequencing, critical paths, dependency mapping) and run standups, syncs and cross-team dependency reviews.
• Run structured reporting with senior leadership (weekly reviews, monthly business reviews, milestone checkpoints) and track flow metrics such as predictability, throughput, cycle time and delivery health.
• Track engineering effort across programs and initiatives, assess the ROI and business impact of technical investments, and surface inefficiencies with proposed fixes.
• Own the change management system for assigned programs, explaining the downstream impact of scope or priority changes on architecture, capacity, dependencies and outcomes.

Required profile

• More than 7 years of experience driving execution across multi-team, cross-functional technology programs in a fast-paced digital or technology environment.
• Deep understanding and hands-on experience with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) best practices.
• Comfortable working with senior engineering, product and business stakeholders, and able to guide teams on technical solutions and systems.
• Structured thinker with a bias for clarity, ownership and outcomes, able to balance rigor with pragmatism.
