Supply Chain Excellence Manager - APAC & NA (Expert)

About the role

BASF's Regional Service Hub in Kuala Lumpur offers functional support services to BASF companies in 20 markets across Asia Pacific. This permanent position in Logistics and Supply Chain Management is based in Kuala Lumpur and works across North America and EMEA time zones. The role designs and optimizes global supply chain services and drives automation and digitalization.

Key responsibilities

• Design and optimize global supply chain services according to demand, legal requirements, M&A, investments and strategic projects
• Analyze the impact and costs of new services and identify needs for optimization, process changes and automation
• Provide input for tender strategies and ensure continuous improvement
• Identify models, methods and tools for service design, structure and prioritize business requirements
• Use new information and communication technologies to design or redesign supply chain services, develop and test new services before implementation, and calculate their cost
• Deliver the basis for technical concepts with the DevOps team and business experts, and drive automation and digitalization
• Create customer-specific and cross-regional distribution concepts with the SDU, Purchase to Pay, Procurement and Finance teams
• Act as project manager for integrating new businesses into the global business service structure

Required profile

• Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Information Systems with SAP certification, or equivalent
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in SCM or logistics
• Experience in optimization and innovation initiatives in transport management, import and export management and order management
• Ability to work across North America and EMEA time zones

Required skills

• Strong SAP R/3 and SAP S/4HANA (OTC and TM modules) experience
• Business intelligence tools such as SCI
• Import/export operations and foreign documentary trade
• Analytical thinking, KPI-based leadership and good communication skills
