Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developer

About the role

Encora is hiring a Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developer in Kuala Lumpur. The role covers designing, developing and maintaining complex Oracle database applications, leading data modelling and ETL, and providing L3 production support, while working with business users, infrastructure, security, risk, compliance, legal and finance stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain complex Oracle database applications using PL/SQL, including stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, collections, dynamic SQL, analytical functions and autonomous transactions.
• Tune SQL and PL/SQL performance using AWR, ADDM, ASH, SQL Trace and Explain Plan.
• Design scalable database architectures, schema structures, indexing strategies, partitioning models and high-availability solutions.
• Lead data modelling, including logical and physical design, normalization, constraints, indexes and governance standards.
• Design and implement ETL processes and data integration solutions, and manage materialized views, replication and distributed databases.
• Run data migration and large-scale data loading with SQL Loader and Oracle migration utilities.
• Maintain UNIX shell scripts for automation, batch processing and operational support.
• Support deployments, environment setup, releases, monitoring, backup, recovery and production support, and provide L3 incident resolution within SLAs.
• Take part in the full SDLC, lead code reviews, set development standards, mentor junior developers and produce technical documentation.
• Drive database modernization initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of Oracle database development experience and 8 years of advanced PL/SQL development.
• Minimum 7 years of hands-on performance tuning and optimization.
• Minimum 6 years of data modelling and 5 years of ETL and data integration experience; Talend exposure is advantageous.
• Minimum 4 years of UNIX shell scripting and 5 years of L3 production support in mission-critical environments.
• Proven experience migrating databases to Oracle environments and strong application DBA exposure.

• Oracle 10g, 11g, 12c, 19c and preferably Oracle Autonomous Database (ADB)
