Senior Commissioning Resident Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Commissioning Resident Engineer to lead the integration, testing and hand‑over of I&C and SCADA systems for a power plant project in Kuala Lumpur. You will act as the Employer’s technical authority, ensuring all interfaces meet contractual and grid‑code requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage interfaces between turbine‑generator, balance of plant, switchyard, communication and TNB grid/SCADA systems.
• Review, approve and witness commissioning procedures, pre‑commissioning, loop checks, functional testing, energisation, synchronisation and trial operation.
• Maintain the I&C and SCADA Interface Register and resolve gaps or inconsistencies with the E&M Contractor.
• Lead regular interface meetings, issue action lists and track closure.
• Validate control philosophies, I/O lists, communication architectures and signal lists against TNB requirements.
• Prepare and review integrated SAT procedures, support site teams during trials and verify data‑point communication with TNB SCADA.
• Ensure compliance with TNB grid code, project specifications and contractual acceptance criteria.

Required profile

• Senior‑level engineer with extensive experience in power‑plant commissioning and integration.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑disciplinary interfaces and lead technical meetings.
• Strong understanding of contractual obligations and grid‑code compliance.
