Senior Associate, Portfolio Operations

About the role

MUFG Investor Services is looking for a Senior Associate in Portfolio Operations in Kuala Lumpur. The role ensures that investment funds can calculate their independent Net Asset Values (NAV). You will operate and oversee reconciliation and NAV review technology to deliver a full reconciled gross NAV to client operations teams, covering cash, positions and dividend and interest reconciliations. You will also act as lead for at least one client, owning the day-to-day relationship.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure client transaction processing is complete, corporate actions are booked correctly and security pricing is accurate.
• Review portfolio pricing, confirming equities, options, futures, bonds and OTC derivatives are priced correctly, gathering prices from vendors such as Bloomberg and ICE when needed.
• Perform GAV reviews and liaise with custodians, brokers and other counterparties on break resolutions and process improvements.
• Respond to client queries promptly, adhere strictly to client SLAs and support new client onboarding.
• Take part in projects and manage change, and oversee reconciliation and data transmission technology.
• Review the work of Associates and investigate issues appropriately.

Required profile

• University degree in Computer Science, Math, Finance, Accounting or an equivalent combination.
• At least 2 years' experience in investor services or asset management.
• Understanding of securities such as equities, bonds, forwards, futures, options and OTC derivatives.
• Keen interest in learning new technologies and skills.

Required skills

• Essential: Microsoft Office applications.
• Preferred: experience with reconciliation technology, a portfolio management system or an investment accounting general ledger.
• Advanced Excel, including pivot tables and functions such as TEXT, LOOKUP and MATH.
• An advantage: intermediate knowledge of VBA, SQL or other programming.
