Senior Associate, Fund Accountant

About the role

MUFG Investor Services, a division of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, provides fund administration, banking, payments, fund financing, foreign exchange overlay, custody and regulatory services to public and private funds. It is hiring a Senior Associate, Fund Accountant in Kuala Lumpur. The role centres on accurate transaction processing, NAV reporting and audit support.

Key responsibilities

• Process transactions accurately in the accounting system and understand their impact on the fund's NAV
• Prepare Net Asset Value packages and supporting schedules for review by senior team members
• Assist in the audit process and prepare or review financial statements
• Meet deliverables and client queries within the SLA and follow operational controls set out in SOC1, completing all relevant checklists
• Suggest improvements to procedures and the client experience to more senior staff
• Ensure fees are billed and collected on time
• Carry out any other ad-hoc tasks as required

Required profile

• Post-secondary education with a concentration in finance or accounting
• At least 2 years' experience in fund administration, which can include other administrators, investment managers or fund auditors
• Completion or interest in a professional accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA, ACCA, ICAEW, CFA or equivalent) is an advantage but not required
