Public Relations Intern

About the role

The Public Relations Intern is involved broadly in the communications planning process and influencer marketing. The intern follows projects and campaigns through to completion, builds relationships and rapport with clients, and works in a team to develop new ideas and approaches that resonate with the intended audience.

Key responsibilities

• Understand the client's business objectives and communication strategy, and serve the client's needs while helping the team deliver daily work and implement plans.
• Assist the team in preparing communication plans and ensure approved PR plans are in place and consistent.
• Identify target audiences and analyse their characteristics, behaviour and content consumption habits.
• Research and identify social influencers, and analyse their relevance to the client's objectives.
• Maintain good communication with newspapers, radio, magazines, online publications and social influencers.
• Carry out research and analyse data using specialist industry resources.
• Monitor campaigns and look for ways to optimise their effectiveness.
• Maintain records and prepare periodic reports as required for assigned accounts.

Required profile

• Excellent verbal and written communication, writing and presentation skills.
• Meticulous, detail-oriented and well-presented.
• A self-starter and team player able to handle multiple tasks.
• Ability to work under pressure and understand the urgency of matters.
• Valid visa to work in Malaysia.
