Programme Associate (Johor Bahru-Based)

About the role

The Programme Associate supports the organisation of all events, training sessions and speaking engagements at the Asia Centre Media Hub and other external venues. The role covers promotion and marketing, speaker and participant identification, and event logistics, and requires fluent spoken and written English.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and conceptualise seminars, conferences, speaking engagements and training sessions.
• Design promotional materials and market activities through email and social media.
• Draft proposals, budgets, event write-ups and reports.
• Handle logistics, catering and travel arrangements for events.
• Liaise with sponsors, donors, speakers, trainers, participants and vendors.
• Support the administration and financial management of events and training.

Required profile

• Malaysian national, aged 28 and above.
• Based in Johor Bahru or Nusajaya, with own transport and accommodation.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in social sciences and humanities; other degrees may be considered.
• 3-5 years of experience in events management, promotion and marketing or a related role.
• Knowledge of democracy, human rights and civil society organisations is desired.

Required skills

• Excellent oral, written and public presentation skills in English.
• MS Office, Canva, WordPress and social media.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage competing deadlines.
