Power Island Mechanical Engineer (Pahang/Johor Based)

About the role

Bureau Veritas is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support power island projects based in Pahang or Johor. The role involves overseeing engineering, construction, and commissioning activities for large‑scale power generation and infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) activities for power island projects.
• Coordinate design, construction, testing, commissioning and hand‑over phases.
• Manage stakeholder relationships with clients, contractors, consultants and regulatory bodies.
• Supervise site works, ensure quality control, HSE compliance and progress monitoring.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural, Power or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in power generation, transmission, renewable energy, utility or large‑scale industrial projects.
• Proven experience in CCGT or thermal power plants and EPC environments.
• Strong coordination, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
