Manager II, Accounting & Reporting

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Manager II to lead Record-to-Report operations, financial close, statutory reporting and tax compliance for multiple entities in the region. The role ensures accurate, timely financial information while maintaining compliance with IFRS, local GAAP and company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes and produce financial statements and management reports.
• Oversee general ledger accounting, balance‑sheet reconciliations and ensure proper treatment of complex transactions.
• Prepare and file statutory financial statements for Malaysia and the Philippines, managing deadlines and regulator relationships.
• Supervise corporate tax compliance, including income tax, withholding tax and indirect taxes such as GST/VAT.
• Maintain internal controls, support internal and external audits, and drive remediation of control gaps.
• Partner with FP&A, Treasury, P2P, O2C and business stakeholders to provide financial insights and support strategic initiatives.
• Identify and implement process improvements, automation and digitisation across R2R activities.
• Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CA, CIMA) preferred.
• 8‑10 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, R2R or shared services environments.
• Fluent in written and spoken English; additional Asian language proficiency is a plus.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP accounting standards.
• Experience with statutory reporting and tax compliance (income tax, GST/VAT, withholding tax).
• Proficiency in internal control frameworks and audit support.
• Hands‑on experience with ERP/financial systems and automation tools.
