Manager I – Financial Accounting & Reporting (R2R)

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Manager I to lead daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial data and reliable reporting within its Finance, Accounting & Audit function.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end month, quarter and year‑end close processes and ensure timely, accurate financial statements.
• Oversee balance‑sheet reconciliations, journal entries, accruals and financial schedules.
• Maintain compliance with IFRS/Local GAAP, internal policies and SOX controls.
• Support internal and external audits, providing required documentation and responses.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, P2P, O2C and business units to resolve accounting issues.
• Identify and drive process automation, digitisation and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing R2R accounting team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CA, CIMA) preferred.
• 7–10 years of accounting/financial reporting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory R2R role.
• Experience in multinational or Global Business Services environments; Big 4 audit background is a plus.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and general ledger accounting.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with automation tools such as BlackLine and Power BI.
