Legal Counsel, Thai Speaker (Hybrid)

About the role

BASF is hiring a Counsel for its Legal and Compliance Services Hub in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The position is open to Thai speakers and works in a hybrid setting within the Legal, Tax & Insurance function.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate local and international contracts and agreements to close, using BASF-approved templates and playbooks.
• Provide legal and compliance support on assigned matters such as documentary reviews, transactional due diligence, M&A projects, audits and compliance and legal investigations.
• Manage the contract lifecycle, improve process efficiency and help maintain and improve contract templates and knowledge management systems.
• Interact with internal clients and external customers as required.
• Handle ancillary tasks such as meeting attendance and minutes, presentations, legal tech tools including AI, and translations.

Required profile

• University degree in law or a related field.
• Over 4 years of experience drafting and reviewing contracts, preferably with a commercial law focus; experience in contracts and agreements, procurement or quantity surveying is also considered.
• Fluent English and Thai, able to work in an international environment.
• Good analytical skills, goal-oriented and customer-focused, with effective communication with colleagues and stakeholders.

Required skills

• Experience with legal databases and standard IT applications.
• Familiarity with AI tools is an added advantage.
