Legal Counsel – APAC Aviation

About the role

The Legal & Compliance Counsel joins Airbus' APAC Legal & Compliance team, providing comprehensive legal support for all APAC entities, especially in Malaysia. You will advise business units on a wide range of legal matters, manage contractual risk, and ensure compliance with local and international regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal and compliance services to business units, functions, and group entities across APAC, focusing on Malaysia.
• Assess legal implications of business decisions, identify risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
• Support acquisitions, reorganisations, integrations, developments, and divestments, coordinating with internal and external counsel.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts for aviation services, procurement, real estate, and compliance‑related agreements.
• Maintain corporate secretarial documentation and monitor transaction compliance with applicable laws.
• Develop and manage standard contract templates in collaboration with export control, insurance, tax, and finance teams.

Required profile

• 6‑8 years post‑qualified experience as an in‑house generalist legal counsel or lawyer.
• Business‑level proficiency in English and Bahasa Melayu; additional APAC or European language a plus.
• Strong understanding of aviation, procurement, real estate, and compliance law.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and manage complex legal projects.
