Legal Consultant – Commercial Contracts (Kuala Lumpur)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Legal Consultant – Commercial Contracts to support global and APAC clients across a broad range of commercial, regulatory, and cross‑border legal matters. This role offers a commercially minded legal professional the chance to work closely with regional and global legal teams, business stakeholders, and external counsel, providing practical, business‑oriented advice.

Key responsibilities

• Work with headquarters' Legal Division and APAC Legal team on regional regulatory affairs such as telecommunications license applications, renewals, filings and inquiries.
• Provide practical legal solutions and advice on various cross‑border transactions.
• Support contract management including drafting, negotiation, review and approvals.
• Deliver internal training and write‑ups to raise legal awareness and ensure day‑to‑day compliance.
• Conduct legal research and monitor changes in local laws and regulations across the APAC region.
• Liaise with external counsel and assist on ad‑hoc projects.

Required profile

• Minimum 3+ years post‑qualification experience with strong background in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts.
• Experience in technology or telecommunications sectors is advantageous.
• Prior work with clients in China is a plus.
• Ability to write and draft in Chinese is an additional advantage.
