Indirect Materials & Services Procurement Buyer (Japanese Speaker)

About the role

Givaudan is looking for a proactive, customer-focused Operations Buyer to join its Procurement team in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. The role supports the purchasing of indirect materials and services so that employees and suppliers receive timely, efficient procurement support. You will work closely with stakeholders across different countries, helping manage purchase orders, resolve supplier and invoice issues and contribute to improving procurement processes.

Key responsibilities

• Create, update and manage Purchase Orders (POs) using SAP Ariba, SAP and SRM
• Support sourcing activities within approved limits
• Follow up on PO approvals, deliveries and supplier inquiries
• Resolve invoice and price discrepancies with suppliers and the Accounts Payable team
• Maintain supplier and procurement master data accurately
• Support requestors and suppliers with procurement queries and issues
• Monitor procurement transactions for compliance and service quality
• Handle quality and process issues and drive resolutions
• Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes and user experience
• Collaborate with global stakeholders across markets and functions

Required profile

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience, ideally in procurement, purchasing or supply chain operations
• Fluent Japanese (JLPT N1 or N2) and English, written and spoken
• Strong problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
• Detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities
• Team player who enjoys a fast-paced, international environment
