Direct Tax Associate (MY)

About the role

Bakertilly is hiring a Direct Tax Associate (MY) to support its Partner and Manager teams in serving clients' income tax needs. The role can be based in Johor Bahru or Kuala Lumpur through TFW Management Services Sdn. Bhd. Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.

Key responsibilities

• Assist clients with the preparation, review and e-filing of income tax returns, including organising information requests, documentation and research
• Help clients with income tax advice on business transactions such as new business arrangements and cross-border deals
• Assist clients in handling IRAS queries and audits
• Help clients obtain income tax rulings and clarifications from IRAS
• Work with colleagues internally and globally on proposals and tax projects
• Support marketing activities such as seminars, webcasts and business development materials

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance or another business-related field
• Ability and desire to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Relevant internship experience in audit, tax or advisory is an advantage

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
