Business Development Internship

About the role

Motorist, an automotive platform for buying and selling cars, is looking for a Business Development intern in Selangor, Malaysia. The intern helps identify and onboard automotive partners such as dealers and workshops, supports outreach and keeps in touch with existing partners, and works alongside the sales and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and reach out to potential automotive partners, including dealers, workshops and related businesses
• Support outreach through research, call preparation and follow-ups
• Assist with onboarding so new partners can start smoothly
• Maintain communication with existing partners and document their needs and feedback
• Help prepare partnership materials, decks and proposals
• Research the market and competitors to spot growth opportunities
• Compile performance data, prepare summary reports and flag key trends to the BD team
• Collaborate with Sales and Operations on partner-related tasks and internal projects

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Management or a related field
• Communicates well in both English and Bahasa Malaysia
• Organised, proactive and able to manage tasks independently
• Comfortable with field exposure or partner visits and open to learning
• Own transport and a valid driving licence is an advantage, though not required

Required skills

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace; Excel/Sheets is a plus
