Application Engineer, APAC

About the role

L-Acoustics, a global leader in premium professional sound systems for live and fixed-installed applications, is looking for an Application Engineer based in South-East Asia, preferably in Malaysia. The role provides operational support to clients and end-users across the APAC region, helping them achieve project success through a premium customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Support sound system design for venues, system engineers, audio consultants and architects using the proprietary software Soundvision.
• Provide on-site support to system and mixing engineers during festivals, tours, special events and musicals.
• Maintain and develop relationships with key APAC consultants and engineers.
• Deliver sound system theory, practice and safe-operation training, including development and administration.
• Provide sound system design, specification and documentation for install and touring applications.
• Carry out sound system commissioning, measurement and verification, including on-site acoustical and mechanical checks.
• Conduct training, product demonstrations and technical presentations.
• Support products, applications, safe operation and software, write technical mission reports and represent the brand in the fixed installation and touring APAC market.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of work experience in the pro audio industry.
• In-depth knowledge of the APAC installation and touring pro audio market.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering preferred.
• Resides in South-East Asia, preferably Malaysia, and is authorized to work there.
• A portfolio of previous work is required.

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of sound design modelling and measurement procedures.
• Experience modelling (EASE) and measurement tools (SMAART) preferred.
• Practical PA system design and operation for touring and/or corporate touring markets.
• Autocad experience preferred.
• Good verbal and written communication skills; fluent English, Mandarin a plus.
