Administrator (Agriculture)

About the role

Alfred H Knight, an independent family-owned inspection, analysis and consultancy group serving the metals and minerals, solid fuels and agriculture industries, is looking for an Administrator to join its team in Port Klang, Malaysia. The Administrator provides administration and clerical support to the Agriculture Department, handling documentation, coordinating inspection schedules, keeping records and ensuring smooth communication between clients, surveyors and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day administrative tasks including filing, data entry and correspondence
• Prepare and process inspection-related documents, certificates and reports for palm oil
• Assist in coordinating inspection schedules with surveyors, clients and third parties
• Maintain records of shipments, testing and certification documents
• Monitor incoming and outgoing communications (emails, calls, letters) and respond promptly

Required profile

• Good interpersonal skills, able to communicate verbally and in writing at all levels, including with UK and overseas colleagues
• Team player with respect for colleagues, with a good understanding of quality of service
• Excellent organisation and time-management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
• Proactive approach and willingness to learn and develop
• Previous client service or management experience preferred
• Undergraduate degree in any field
• Experience in the Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) industry, especially agricultural commodities and global trading standards
• English and Bahasa at business-proficiency level, written and spoken

Required skills

• Competence with standard Microsoft software packages
• Ability to prepare management information and reports
