About the role
Alcon is seeking a Technician II to join its Repair & Maintenance Engineering team in Malaysia. The role focuses on planning, designing, and executing maintenance programs for production, laboratory, and quality control equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and high reliability.
Key responsibilities
- Execute preventive maintenance (PM) activities to minimize machine downtime and non‑conformance reports.
- Use correct SOPs and validated documentation for all planned activities.
- Maintain accurate PM records and provide 24/7 support to production.
- Monitor spare‑part inventory and coordinate with the spare‑part room.
- Assist engineers with cost‑reduction initiatives, machine set‑up, and efficiency improvements.
- Participate in new equipment installation and validation programs.
- Support engineers with documentation and job execution.
- Facilitate effective communication across shifts and ensure smooth hand‑overs.
- Investigate equipment‑related process and quality failures and implement permanent solutions.
- Contribute to business development projects as a lead, support, or executor.
Required profile
- Minimum 2 years of mechanical/electrical technician experience, or a diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering for fresh graduates.
- Ability to work 12‑hour rotational shifts.
- Good documentation practices and familiarity with GMP/GDP standards.
Required skills
- Mechanical engineering knowledge.

- Machine troubleshooting experience.
- Ability to read and interpret analytical diagrams.
