Product Safety Senior Specialist (Japanese Speaker)

About the role

We are seeking a Product Safety Senior Specialist who is fluent in Japanese to provide expert regulatory and product stewardship support across BASF group companies. The role ensures compliance with corporate policies, global standards, and regional regulations while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive hazard assessments using GHS, CLP, REACH and other regional regulations.
• Maintain and update Safety Data Sheets, labels, and hazard classification documentation.
• Apply advanced regulatory expertise to deliver judgments on chemical classification and compliance.
• Monitor, interpret and implement regulatory changes across multiple jurisdictions.
• Lead impact assessments on products, processes and business operations.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to implement compliance strategies and provide regulatory guidance.
• Deliver training and support to ensure awareness of regulatory obligations.

Required profile

• University or Master’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
• 3‑4 years of experience in chemical regulation, product regulatory affairs or product safety.
• Fluent written and spoken English and Japanese.
• Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.
