Trade Compliance Operations Executive – Asia Pacific

About the role

Support BASF group companies to meet all legal and regulatory requirements related to trade compliance. Protect BASF’s license to operate by ensuring adherence to import and export control, sanctions, and screening obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Execute trade control activities across Asia Pacific, ensuring compliance with import, export and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain daily operation reports, review compliance performance and update documentation.
• Analyze regulatory data, verify documentation and support system accuracy.
• Collaborate with internal customers, stakeholders and business partners to resolve service delivery issues.
• Contribute to KPI reporting, cost charging and non‑conformance monitoring using BASF digital tools.
• Support internal and external audits, conduct quality checks and implement preventive measures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Law, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in trade compliance, regulatory affairs or related functions.
• Experience with import/export documentation and customs procedures is an advantage.
• Fluent English (written and spoken); Chinese language skills are a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, basic macros) and PowerPoint.
• SAP systems for compliance or logistics processes.
• Power BI for data visualization.
• Digital automation tools for trade compliance tasks.
