Senior/Staff SMT Process Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior/Staff Process Engineer specialized in Surface‑Mount Technology (SMT) to lead paste printing and glue dispensing processes. The role focuses on developing, optimizing and sustaining SMT processes for new product introductions and existing product lines at Bosch.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimize SMT paste printing and glue dispensing processes using Design of Experiments, risk assessment and capability studies.
• Generate and maintain standardized work documentation and ensure workstation and system readiness.
• Define preventive maintenance plans in collaboration with the maintenance team and provide training on machine operation and upkeep.
• Troubleshoot major machine breakdowns and support equipment capability studies, ROI analysis and purchase justification.
• Participate in new product development discussions, provide traceability setup, and act as data owner for process analytics.
• Drive process, yield, cost and cycle‑time improvements using statistical methods, fault‑tree analysis, 6‑Sigma, Kepner‑Tregoe and continuous improvement tools.
• Collaborate with Centre of Competence teams to standardize processes through PFMEA and verification activities.
• Support audits, technical advice requests and act as product engineer for assigned models.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 5‑8 years of hands‑on experience in SMT module processes and equipment.
• Proven ability to work independently, lead by example and communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
• Strong English written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• SMT paste printers (Dek, Ekra, MPM) and glue dispensers (Camalot, Asymtek).
• Design of Experiments (DOE), statistical analysis, 6‑Sigma, Kepner‑Tregoe.
• Fault‑tree analysis, PFMEA, equipment capability studies, ROI analysis.
• Preventive maintenance planning and machine troubleshooting.
• Process data management, visualization and analytics.
