Manager I, Financial Accounting & Reporting (R2R)

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Manager I to lead its Record‑to‑Report (R2R) accounting function in Selangor. The role oversees daily accounting operations, ensures accurate financial data, and drives continuous improvement across the finance organization.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end month‑, quarter‑ and year‑end close processes and ensure timely, accurate financial statements.
• Review and approve journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and financial schedules in compliance with IFRS and local GAAP.
• Oversee balance‑sheet reconciliations, maintain audit trails and enforce internal control requirements.
• Act as primary contact for internal and external audits, providing documentation and responses.
• Partner with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, P2P, O2C and business units to resolve accounting issues and support decision‑making.
• Identify and implement process standardisation, automation and digitisation initiatives.
• Support finance transformation projects, system upgrades and shared‑services transitions.
• Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing R2R accounting team.

Required profile

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP accounting standards.
• Experience with internal controls, audit support and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in process optimisation, automation and digitisation concepts.
