UC Messaging Engineer – Exchange Hybrid Specialist

About the role

AVEVA is seeking a UC Messaging Engineer to lead the design, operation, and optimisation of its Exchange hybrid environment. The role ensures secure, reliable mail flow and a seamless messaging experience for a global enterprise using Microsoft 365.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, operate, and optimise Exchange Hybrid configurations, mail flow, transport services, recipient management, Outlook client health, and overall messaging reliability across on‑prem and cloud environments.
• Monitor and remediate Entra ID Connect/Cloud Sync issues, ensure directory hygiene and collaborate with IAM, Security and UCC teams on governance.
• Maintain and validate MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, journaling, and anti‑spam/phishing defenses; manage Microsoft Defender for M365 and Purview configurations for compliance, retention, eDiscovery and mail hygiene.
• Develop and maintain PowerShell and Microsoft Graph automation scripts for operational efficiency and reporting; provide Tier‑3 escalation support and drive root‑cause analysis.
• Create and maintain runbooks, SOPs and architecture diagrams; partner with cross‑functional teams and act as backup for broader M365 service escalations.

Required profile

• Proven experience administering Exchange hybrid environments in a globally distributed enterprise.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and identity synchronization services.
• Hands‑on expertise with messaging security protocols (MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC) and Microsoft Defender for M365.
• Ability to design and implement automation using PowerShell and Microsoft Graph.
• Experience collaborating with Security Operations, IAM and End‑User Services teams.
