Supply Chain Modeling & Optimization Specialist

About the role

The Supply Chain Modeling & Optimization Specialist will join BASF's Global Business Services hub in Kuala Lumpur to drive digital transformation of the supply chain. You will design and implement Control Tower solutions, support tactical delivery operations, and lead change management initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide tactical support for door‑to‑door delivery processes and monitor exceptions across all supply‑chain stages.
• Lead disruption monitoring, run what‑if scenarios, and recommend corrective actions.
• Support crisis‑management events with impact analysis and preventive measures.
• Conduct market analysis to identify trends, new ports, carriers, and transport modes.
• Improve supply‑chain resilience and reduce delivery‑risk exposure.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend suitable tools.
• Collaborate with operations to translate business requirements into actionable objectives.
• Drive change management and deployment of new digital tools and processes.
• Communicate disruptions, impacts, and recovery options to stakeholders.
• Coordinate analytics and ETL activities for delivery data, working with data‑science teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in tactical supply‑chain support and delivery operations.
• Experience handling supply‑chain disruptions, crisis management, and market analysis.
• Strong ability to work with operations, carriers, and service providers to resolve issues.
• Demonstrated experience in change management and stakeholder communication.
• Familiarity with coordinating data analytics and ETL processes.
