Software Linux Developer – Embedded Systems

About the role

Join Bosch Cross‑Domain Computing Solutions in Penang as a Software Linux Developer. You will work on cutting‑edge automotive platforms, contributing to V2X connectivity, infotainment, and cockpit solutions for global car manufacturers.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the project team on software design and architecture.
• Capture and evaluate customer, internal, and vehicle‑specific interface requirements.
• Perform requirement, design, and code reviews following Bosch’s software engineering process.
• Develop, unit‑test, and release software according to the SW release process.
• Create SW test specifications, develop test software when needed, and execute test plans.
• Analyse failure logs, troubleshoot system problems, and resolve design issues.
• Produce technical reports, design analyses, and documentation.
• Support manufacturing by troubleshooting production‑related problems and providing post‑production support.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• Proven experience in embedded software engineering.
• Hands‑on development and troubleshooting on embedded targets.

Required skills

• Strong programming in C and object‑oriented languages.
• Linux embedded development, cross‑compiling, and OS toolchain expertise.
• Experience with Yocto/Debian build systems and Linux file‑system management.
• Proficiency with GDB debugging and Bash scripting.
• Knowledge of Linux driver porting and Kernel device‑tree configuration.
