Share Margin Financing (SMF) Specialist

About the role

Hong Leong Bank is hiring a Share Margin Financing (SMF) Specialist to drive the use of its SMF product and build a new-to-bank sales pipeline. The role works with external brokers, branch personal bankers, relationship managers and branch managers, and involves regular visits to brokers, branches and Priority Banking Centers.

Key responsibilities

• Drive product awareness through external brokers, branch personal bankers, RWM relationship managers and branch managers to build a new-to-bank sales pipeline and increase SMF utilization.
• Manage relationships with in-market brokers, dealers, remisiers and clients through excellent customer service.
• Provide accurate, valid, complete and up-to-date information to internal and external stakeholders.
• Handle customer complaints effectively, offering solutions and alternatives and following up until resolved.
• Promote the bank's marketing campaigns to drive new-to-bank acquisition and SMF utilization.
• Visit external brokers, branches and Priority Banking Centers monthly or quarterly depending on coverage.
• Update the Wealth Asset Financing product manager on client feedback on product features, marginable listings and competitor activity.
• Support and deliver product training and briefings on SMF and other Wealth Asset Financing products.
• Cross-sell other banking products such as current and saving accounts, mortgage, hire purchase, personal loans and credit cards.
• Perform ad-hoc tasks assigned by the Head of Department and collaborate with branches, regional offices and head office stakeholders.
• Assist the Head of Wealth Asset Financing and the SMF team lead with audit and compliance matters in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Malaysian citizen.
• Diploma or undergraduate degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Business Studies or Marketing.
• 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in Global Markets, Stockbroking and Wealth Management preferred.
