Senior Planning Engineer (Upstream Gas)

About the role

TotalEnergies EP Sarawak Inc. is looking for a highly motivated Senior Operations Engineer (Planning) to join its Field Operations team in Kuala Lumpur. The role covers production planning, forecasting, reporting and budgeting, and aims to optimize field operating efficiency while working with internal and external stakeholders across the upstream gas value chain.

Key responsibilities

• Meet production reporting deliverables: submit daily, weekly and monthly reports on production values, shortfall and operating efficiency using existing tools such as the HQ reporting site and Excel, and support internal and external parties (Subsurface, Finance, HSE) with queries and ad hoc reports.
• Ensure optimum field operating efficiency through production planning: submit 30-day and 90-day production and activity outlooks monthly, engage with MPM and other PACs at the monthly Gas Operational Delivery Committee, and act as TEPMY representative in monthly and bi-annual production planning meetings with external parties.
• Identify field opportunities and threats, monitor gas composition, and forecast the production profile and planned activities at least two years ahead with the Subsurface team.
• Take part in technical discussions on operational constraints such as design capacity and production limits, and give weekly updates on production and activities across the network.
• Plan the field operations budget: consolidate production data, compare it with historical data, and propose realistic budgets, production and shortfall figures.
• Comply with hydrocarbon allocation requirements internally and externally, check allocation inputs such as meter tickets, maintain a minimum material balance factor of 0.98 with the Metering Engineer, and stay up to date with standards such as PPGUA, GSA, OMFUA/MSA and MTAB procedures.

Required profile

• Professional certificate or bachelor's degree in engineering or science, or equivalent qualification in a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience (minimum diploma) or 10 years of experience (minimum professional certificate) in oil and gas.
