Senior Mechanical Engineer – Hydropower Projects

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of mechanical equipment and services for hydropower projects. The role involves concept through detailed design, tender preparation, and on‑site support during construction and commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual, preliminary, basic and detailed designs for mechanical balance‑of‑plant equipment, hydraulic steel structures, penstocks and powerhouse layouts.
• Develop tender documents, technical specifications, bills of quantities and cost estimates, and evaluate tender submissions.
• Review contractor shop drawings and material submissions for compliance and produce design review reports.
• Attend factory acceptance tests, support resident engineers on site, and coordinate mechanical engineering interfaces with other disciplines.
• Assist project managers with progress monitoring, reporting and client/meeting coordination.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum 6 years of experience designing hydromechanical and mechanical equipment for dams and hydropower stations.
• Strong English communication skills, both spoken and written.
• Willingness to work out‑station as required.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience with hydro turbine selection software.
