Senior Manager - Capital Investment and Green Incentives

About the role

PwC is recruiting a Senior Manager for its Corporate Tax services in Kuala Lumpur, focusing on capital investment and green incentives. The team helps clients assess which allowances, incentives and grants are available and which expenditure qualifies, covering capital allowances, reinvestment allowances, investment tax allowances and green incentives. Clients span property developers, manufacturers, retailers, hotel and mall operators and energy generators, and the work is client-facing, including meetings and site visits in Malaysia and Singapore.

Key responsibilities

• Support capital allowances, reinvestment allowances and other incentives, including claim preparation and technical advice, and design fixed asset technology solutions
• Manage a portfolio of clients and deliver projects from viability and feasibility through to construction and completion
• Prepare Capital Allowance claims for submission to local tax authorities and apply for incentives, allowances, regulations and grants
• Manage client engagements and build relationships with clients, internal stakeholders and external contractors and consultants
• Liaise with local authorities on queries about Capital Allowance claims and grant applications, and advise on tax technical points
• Supervise juniors, coach and delegate a growing team of associates, and help develop new business opportunities

Required profile

• Experience in a tax environment, preferably in Capital Allowances, and excellent working knowledge of tax incentives
• Strong project management skills to handle several live projects at once
• Excellent communication skills as the point of contact for clients, colleagues and the wider tax practice
• Ability to coach and delegate, and good written skills including report writing and technical memo drafting
• Analytical skills for numerical analysis of client data, integrity and professionalism
• Experience in quantity surveying, valuations or construction technology is an added advantage
