Senior Engineer – Projects

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Engineer – Projects to lead the planning, design and execution of power and energy projects in Malaysia. The role involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing budgets and ensuring compliance with local regulations and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive project management plans covering scope, schedule, budget and resources.
• Collaborate with engineers, clients and external stakeholders to produce design solutions that meet regulatory and industry standards.
• Oversee procurement, contractor management and site inspections to ensure adherence to specifications and timelines.
• Monitor project expenditures, prepare financial reports and forecasts, and manage cost control.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, contractors, vendors and authorities, delivering status reports to senior management.
• Implement health, safety and environmental practices, conduct safety audits and support HSE initiatives.
• Manage regulatory approval processes, ensuring timely submission of documentation.
• Assist in preparing technical proposals for consultancy work, working with multidisciplinary teams.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (Master’s preferred) from a reputable university.
• 5–10 years of post‑graduate experience in the power and energy sector, preferably with GT/CCGT/thermal power plant projects.
• Proven track record in project design, construction and consultancy.
• Strong understanding of local regulations, quality assurance and HSE standards.
