Senior Electrical Engineer - Data Centre Projects

About the role

The Senior Electrical Engineer reports to the Head of Engineering and is responsible for designing and engineering modular data centre and critical infrastructure projects. The role covers electrical system design, technical documentation, supplier coordination, factory acceptance testing (FAT), project support and continuous product improvement so that reliable and compliant solutions are delivered to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare electrical designs for modular data centres, power skids and critical infrastructure systems, including single line diagrams, load and cable sizing calculations, voltage drop studies, protection coordination, earthing and lightning protection, and review supplier and subcontractor drawings and calculations.
• Develop and maintain standard electrical designs, specifications and engineering templates; evaluate new technologies and drive continuous improvement in product quality, reliability and manufacturability.
• Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers, review vendor drawings and datasheets, and support the technical evaluation and selection of electrical equipment.
• Support project delivery by reviewing installation drawings, supporting commissioning, integrated systems testing and handover, and helping resolve technical issues during installation.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, approve as-built drawings and final documentation packages, and keep document control in line with company procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 3-8 years of experience in data centres, critical power systems, electrical building services or industrial power systems.
• Preferred: experience with UPS, generators, transformers, switchboards, DC power systems and critical infrastructure.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally when required.

Required skills

• Knowledge of MV/LV power systems, UPS, generator, DC power, protection and earthing systems.
• Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, technical writing, and stakeholder management.
