Senior Authentication Services Engineer

About the role

The Senior Authentication Services Engineer joins 3M's Identity & Access Management organization to design, implement, and operate enterprise authentication platforms worldwide. This hands‑on position drives authentication capabilities aligned with a Zero Trust security strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Engineer, configure, and maintain Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, and federated identity services.
• Implement and support SSO integrations (SAML, OIDC, OAuth 2.0) across SaaS, on‑premise, and hybrid applications.
• Configure MFA policies and roll out phishing‑resistant credentials (FIDO2, Windows Hello for Business, certificate‑based auth).
• Develop, test, and maintain Conditional Access policies.
• Contribute to authentication standards, reference architectures, and technical documentation.
• Support audit and compliance activities with evidence and remediation.
• Identify and remediate gaps in authentication posture through engineering solutions.
• Monitor platform health, respond to security incidents, and act as escalation point for complex issues.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure seamless integration.

Required profile

• Senior‑level technical contributor with strong IAM experience.
• Hands‑on expertise in Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, and federated identity protocols.
• Proven ability to design, implement, and operate authentication solutions at scale.
• Experience supporting Zero Trust initiatives and security compliance.
