Senior Associate – Deals, Performance & Restructuring

About the role

The Senior Associate will join PwC’s Deals Business Recovery Services team in Kuala Lumpur, helping clients navigate financial distress, improve cash flow and restructure debt. You will work on a variety of projects that aim to reduce balance‑sheet stress, cut costs, and secure financing to support business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse client financials to identify cash‑generation opportunities and cost‑saving measures.
• Support the design and execution of debt restructuring, refinancing and insolvency solutions.
• Collaborate with senior managers to develop and present strategic recommendations.
• Apply a range of analytical tools and industry data to extract actionable insights.
• Review work for quality, accuracy and relevance, and provide feedback to junior team members.
• Maintain high ethical standards and adhere to PwC’s code of conduct.

Required profile

• University degree in any discipline.
• Professional accounting qualification (ICAEW, ACCA, MICPA‑CAANZ, CPA Australia) – preferred.
• CFA candidacy is an advantage.
• Experience in corporate or debt restructuring, insolvency, or related advisory work.
• Strong analytical, numerical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Audit or legal background is welcomed.
