Risk Surveyor – Insurance

About the role

Perform risk assessment on general insurance risks and provide written reports, recommending risk improvement measures and technical advice on safety management, loss control, fire protection and security systems.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the quality of general insurance risks, specifically property fire and burglary.
• Evaluate loss potential (EML, PML) according to agreed definitions.
• Prepare special rating applications for submission to PIAM.
• Conduct 3‑Year Review assessments for Self‑Rating and Special‑Rating risks.
• Provide risk improvement advice (RIA) promptly and perform follow‑up reviews in line with ZRE guidelines.
• Issue technical advice on safety management, fire protection and security systems where required.
• Complete all assignments within the stipulated time frame.
• Continuously develop technical knowledge in risk engineering and attend formal training for capability upgrades.

Required profile

• Minimum three years experience as a Risk Surveyor in the insurance industry.
• Full‑time availability and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Based in Kuala Lumpur and able to work on‑site.
• Strong analytical skills to assess loss potential and risk quality.
