Production Planning Manager

About the role

The Production Planning Manager will lead the Production Management Control (PMC) function, ensuring that production schedules are executed efficiently and that material flows support the manufacturing process. This role is critical for maintaining material availability, optimizing inventory levels, and delivering finished products on time. The manager will collaborate with operations, procurement, and logistics teams to synchronize workflows and drive continuous improvement in planning practices.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the PMC function to coordinate planning activities across the plant, aligning production targets with demand forecasts and quality standards.
• Develop, maintain, and continuously refine production plans that meet customer requirements while maximizing resource utilization.
• Monitor supply levels, work with procurement to secure timely material deliveries, and resolve any shortages that could impact production.
• Analyze inventory data to balance stock holding costs with the need for uninterrupted production flow, implementing optimisation strategies.
• Oversee the scheduling and dispatch of finished goods, ensuring that deliveries meet agreed timelines and customer expectations.
