Product Safety Specialist – Chemical Regulations

About the role

We are looking for a Product Safety Specialist to support chemical regulation compliance and product stewardship across our operations in Kuala Lumpur. The role will work closely with supply‑chain, customer service and technical teams to ensure products meet BASF standards and relevant legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver product safety services covering chemical regulations and product stewardship.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to implement compliance policies and BASF minimum requirements.
• Monitor product reports, review compliance against predefined criteria and maintain regulatory data in SAP.
• Verify documentation for import, export and domestic trade and follow up on corrective actions.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement projects, efficiency studies and audit support.
• Update work guides and process documentation to retain knowledge and standardise procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience in chemical regulation, product regulatory affairs or product safety.
• Strong analytical and organisational abilities with good communication skills.

Required skills

• Solid knowledge of chemistry and chemical regulations.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with SAP (advantageous).
• Familiarity with Robotic Process Automation or Power BI tools.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
