Patient Care Assistant

About the role

The Patient Care Assistant will provide compassionate care to mothers and newborns at a confinement centre operated by Sunway Medical Centre. This on‑site, full‑time position focuses on ensuring comfort, safety and well‑being for both mother and infant during the post‑natal period. The role requires close collaboration with nursing staff and strict adherence to the centre’s health and safety protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver attentive, empathetic care to postpartum mothers.
• Assist with the basic needs of newborns, including feeding and hygiene.
• Monitor and report any changes in the health status of mothers or infants.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment within the confinement centre.
• Provide emotional support and answer basic queries from mothers.
• Document care activities accurately and promptly.

Required profile

• Strong caring attitude and ability to work directly with mothers and newborns.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Bandar Sunway on a full‑time schedule.
• Good communication skills in English (and optionally Malay).
• Ability to follow hygiene and infection‑control guidelines.
• Basic understanding of post‑natal care procedures.
