Occupational Therapist – SEN Centre (Primary & Secondary)

About the role

The Occupational Therapist will join Tenby International School Setia EcoHill’s newly developing SEN Centre, delivering high‑quality assessment, intervention and consultation for students aged 4‑16 across primary and secondary phases. The role supports functional participation, independence, regulation, access to learning and confidence within the school environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and evidence‑based interventions for children and young people with identified or emerging special educational needs.
  • Collaborate daily with teachers, learning assistants, school leaders, parents and external professionals to design and implement practical, developmentally appropriate support plans.
  • Contribute to Individual Education Plans, access arrangements and multi‑disciplinary case reviews.
  • Deliver therapy sessions in classrooms, specialist areas, the SEN Centre and wider campus settings, adapting approaches to each student’s needs.
  • Maintain professional standards, confidentiality and safeguarding responsibilities at all times.
  • Share best practice through coaching, workshops and collaborative planning with staff.

Required profile

  • Recognised degree or postgraduate qualification in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Current professional registration (or eligibility) with the Malaysian allied health regulatory body and evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Minimum five years of direct occupational therapy experience with children and young people with Special Educational Needs, preferably across the 4‑16 age range.
  • Significant experience working within schools or educational settings, including primary and secondary levels.
  • Strong understanding of developmental, sensory, motor, social‑emotional and neurodiverse profiles such as autism, ADHD, dyspraxia/DCD and sensory processing differences.
  • Excellent oral and written English with ability to produce clear assessment reports and parent‑facing recommendations.
