Manufacturing Technology Specialist

About the role

3M is seeking a Manufacturing Technology Specialist to join its global team of innovators. In this position you will work across multiple mining plants, applying engineering expertise to improve process performance, equipment uptime and overall operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate manufacturing process and equipment deficiencies, prioritize solutions and drive execution.
• Provide guidance and best‑practice leadership to plant personnel for process operation, preventative maintenance and capital project justification.
• Determine equipment and MES improvement priorities, recommending repair, replacement or upgrades.
• Use data‑based tools and methodologies to generate improvement recommendations and track results.
• Lead high‑impact projects that enhance plant performance, yield and cost efficiency across four IMP mining locations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• Minimum five years of experience in engineering, manufacturing technical fields or heavy industrial operations, including equipment maintenance.
• Experience in mineral processing, mining operations, crushing and screening equipment is a plus.
• Strong analytical and data‑driven decision‑making abilities.
• Self‑starter with high energy and the ability to work across multiple sites.

Required skills

• MES (Manufacturing Execution System) knowledge.
• Data analytics and data‑based improvement tools.
• Heavy equipment maintenance and mineral processing expertise.
