Manager, General Ledger Accounting

About the role

The Manager, General Ledger Accounting leads the Accounting to Reporting function for the JCAP region, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded, compliant with US GAAP, local statutes, and tax regulations. The role partners closely with local finance teams and oversees a hybrid team environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise general ledger activities and period‑end close for a cluster of countries in Japan, China and Asia‑Pacific.
• Manage outsourced General Ledger processes and monitor monthly performance of the BPO partner.
• Ensure accurate and timely period reporting, balance‑sheet reconciliations and account reconciliation in line with corporate standards.
• Implement policies, operational controls and continuous‑improvement initiatives, including RPA automation.
• Coordinate with virtual finance teams and onsite BSC towers to drive global projects and strategic initiatives.
• Maintain a robust control environment, ensuring SOX compliance and supporting internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 8 years of finance/accounting experience in a multinational environment, with at least 4 years in a supervisory role.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin (both spoken and written).
• Hands‑on experience with US GAAP, local statutory reporting and IFRS.
• Proven ability to lead change initiatives and manage culturally diverse teams.
