Lab Technician

About the role

The Lab Technician will support the Science Department by preparing and maintaining laboratory resources, ensuring safety, and assisting teachers during practical lessons. This role is essential for delivering hands‑on science education to students.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teaching staff in the Science Department with practical lessons and examinations.
• Prepare and maintain laboratory materials, equipment, and reagents, including labeling, cleaning, and waste disposal.
• Refill, label, and clean reagent bottles, acids, alkalis, and indicators, and prepare stock solutions as required.
• Maintain up‑to‑date MSDS for all chemicals and ensure safety regulations are followed.
• Prepare annual budget for lab supplies and coordinate purchases with the purchasing officer.
• Conduct routine equipment checks, inventory counts, and arrange repairs or maintenance.
• Ensure the laboratory environment is clean, tidy, and safe for staff and pupils.
