Inspector of Works, Mechanical

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Mechanical Inspector of Works to oversee the installation and quality assurance of mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems on construction projects. You will work closely with the Resident Engineer and project teams to ensure compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections of M&E system installations to verify compliance with design, codes, and local regulations.
• Review method statements, material submissions, shop drawings, and as‑built drawings for technical accuracy.
• Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and project managers to coordinate M&E work and resolve technical issues.
• Provide technical guidance and respond to queries from contractors.
• Participate in factory acceptance tests, site acceptance tests, and overall testing and commissioning of M&E systems.
• Promote safety awareness and ensure all work practices meet health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Monitor performance of installed systems, troubleshoot operational issues, and prepare detailed inspection reports.
• Endorse approved as‑built drawings after site verification.

Required profile

• Experience in mechanical and electrical system inspection on construction sites.
