GL Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a proactive GL Accountant to join our global finance team in Kuala Lumpur. The role involves managing end-to-end general ledger activities, ensuring accurate statutory and group reporting, and supporting the finance function across multiple regions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, process monthly journal entries and support month-end and year-end closing.
• Prepare and review P&L and balance-sheet statements, perform account analysis and cash-flow forecasting in collaboration with Treasury.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, and ensure compliance with statutory reporting and tax filing requirements.
• Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, including auditors and tax authorities.
• Maintain fixed-asset and investment registers and contribute to process-improvement initiatives.
• Support junior team members and assist with system migrations or implementations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• 2-5 years of experience in finance accounting, preferably within a General Ledger or SSC/BPO environment.
• Strong attention to detail, high level of accountability and ability to handle high-volume transactions.
• Excellent written and verbal English; additional language skills are a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience with enterprise ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or IFS.
