Freight Cost Management Internship

About the role

The Freight Cost Management Internship supports the FCM team in processing supplier invoices, ensuring compliance with global standards and local regulations, and delivering high‑quality financial services to BASF customers.

Key responsibilities

• Process third‑party supplier invoices, purchase orders, credit notes and down‑payments, guaranteeing accuracy, completeness and timeliness.
• Manage recurring invoices, auto‑debits, invoicing settlements and consignment invoices while adhering to global guidelines and local legal requirements.
• Perform monthly GRIR clearing, vendor statement reconciliation and audit confirmations.
• Respond to inquiries via the generic mailbox within SLA and support tax verification (VAT, GST, withholding tax).

Required profile

• Degree in accounting, finance or business administration with 0‑2 years of relevant experience.
• Understanding of Procure‑to‑Pay (P2P) and accounting processes; experience in a shared service or BPO environment is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in English with strong communication and writing abilities.
• Experience working in an SAP environment.
• Knowledge of MS Office tools and ERP systems such as SAP or Chrome River.
• Additional language skills (e.g., Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese) are advantageous.
