Executive, Import Export Malaysia

About the role

The Executive – Import Export Malaysia will oversee the full cycle of inbound and outbound logistics for BASF’s chemical products in Malaysia. You will ensure shipments are executed efficiently, documentation is accurate, and all processes comply with company and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end import and export shipments (air, LCL, FCL, ISO, tanker, parcel) and coordinate with logistics partners, warehouses and internal stakeholders.
• Prepare and validate shipping documentation and maintain up‑to‑date records in SAP TM, including MDB block releases.
• Generate and analyse operational reports such as KPI, TCO, demurrage & detention, and freight cost clean‑up, ensuring timely submission.
• Verify freight invoices, resolve discrepancies, and control costs related to detention, demurrage and open items.
• Handle claim billing, non‑conformance management and coordinate insurance claims with legal and service providers.
• Identify root causes of issues, drive corrective actions and support continuous improvement of logistics operations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in import/export logistics, preferably within the chemical or manufacturing sector.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and drive corrective measures.
• Excellent coordination skills to work with multiple internal and external partners.
• Detail‑oriented approach and solid understanding of regulatory compliance.
