Enterprise Search Tech Lead

About the role

As the Enterprise Search Tech Lead at 3m, you will own the end‑to‑end design, development, and optimization of the company’s enterprise search platform. You will drive high‑performance, AI‑ready search capabilities that power digital experiences and emerging generative AI use cases across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and implementation of search solutions built on AWS OpenSearch, ensuring relevance, scalability, and reliability.
• Own the full search stack, including ingestion pipelines (Spring Boot/Batch, Kafka), search APIs, index design, and infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Drive hybrid retrieval strategies that combine lexical and semantic/vector search to support RAG, LLM grounding, and agentic AI scenarios.
• Create and maintain technical documentation such as C4 architecture models, system design diagrams, and operational runbooks.
• Mentor and guide developers on the search engineering team, conduct code reviews, and raise engineering standards.
• Collaborate with domain architects on long‑term strategy while executing complex platform changes.
• Build and monitor Airflow‑orchestrated ingestion workflows, alerting systems, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Provide on‑call support for critical incidents and troubleshoot search‑related issues for cross‑functional applications.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience designing and operating large‑scale search platforms.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and a collaborative mindset.
