Customs Operations Internship

About the role

This internship provides students with hands‑on exposure to customs operations within the chemical industry supply chain. You will work alongside BASF's customs team to understand how international trade regulations impact business.

Key responsibilities

• Learn and apply HS code classification for accurate documentation.
• Analyze the impact of duties and taxes on cross‑border transactions.
• Study trade facilitation tools such as free‑trade agreements, Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status, and duty drawback schemes.
• Map the end‑to‑end customs process flow and identify improvement opportunities.
• Support small assignments and improvement initiatives under supervision.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a university program related to logistics, international trade, or supply chain management.
• Strong analytical mindset and interest in global commerce.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
