Customs Operations Intern

About the role

This internship provides hands‑on exposure to customs operations within the supply chain of the chemistry industry. You will work alongside the customs team to understand how international trade regulations impact business.

Key responsibilities

• Observe and map the end‑to‑end customs procedure flow.
• Assist in HS code classification for product shipments.
• Analyse the impact of duties and taxes on international transactions.
• Research trade facilities such as free‑trade agreements, Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status and duty drawback schemes.
• Contribute to improvement initiatives by discussing plans and timelines.
• Complete small assignments to apply learned concepts.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a university program related to logistics, international trade, chemistry, or a similar field.
• Strong interest in customs regulations and global supply‑chain dynamics.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail.

Required skills

• HS code classification
• Customs documentation and procedures
• Understanding of duties, taxes and trade facilitation mechanisms (FTA, AEO, duty drawback)
